Bible verses about love and marriage:-

The following scriptures provide the framework and characteristics of biblical marriage — that it is the joining of a man and woman

(Genesis 2:23–24), to become one flesh. This is a commitment that is not to be taken lightly (Matthew 19:4–6). In marriage, a man is to love his spouse with the same type of love that Christ loved the church — a giving, generous,

and sacrificial love (Ephesians 5:25). Likewise, the wife is to respect her husband (Ephesians 5:31–33). Paul observes that this is a monogamous relationship (1 Corinthians 7:2–4) (not polygamous one .e.g.

a man with several partners). In marriage, a man seeks to satisfy his partner, and likewise, the wife her husband desires. It is not about ‘standing up for your own rights’. (1 Corinthians 7:2–4).

All this takes place in the context of love and the exchanging of rings can be offered as a symbol of this love. (Song of Solomon 8:6–7)

Bible Verses on marriage:-

“God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

“And the man said, This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh: let her name be Woman because she was taken out of Man. For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and they will be one flesh.”

“A newly married man will not have to go out with the army or undertake any business, but maybe free for one year, living in his house for the comfort of his wife.”

Song of Solomon 8:6–7 (The Message)

“Hang my locket around your neck,

wear my ring on your finger.

Love is invincible facing danger and death.

Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.

The fire of love stops at nothing-

it sweeps everything before it.

Floodwaters can’t drown love,

torrents of rain can’t put it out.

Love can’t be bought, love can’t be sold-

it’s not to be found in the marketplace.”

“And he said to them in response, “Have you not read that he who made man from the beginning, made them male and female?” And he said: “For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh. And so, now they are not two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.” “

“ But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise, also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife.”

“ Husbands, have a love for your wives, even as Christ had a love for the church, and gave himself for it.”

“For this cause, a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.” This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife sees that she respects her husband.”
